In Keyword Planner, formerly known as the Keyword Tool, you can get search volume and traffic estimates for keywords you're considering. Unfortunately, when Google transitioned from Keyword Tool to Keyword Planner, they stripped out a lot of the more interesting functionality. But you can make up for it a bit if you take the information you learn from Keyword Planner and use Google Trends to fill in some blanks.
A marketing plan is a business's operational document for outreach and advertising to generate leads and reach its target market. A marketing plan pulls together all the campaigns that will be undertaken over a period with additional information on how they will be measured and monitored. The marketing plan interacts with other business operations in several ways, including:
To be clear, a ‘digital agency’ still cares very much about the quality of design and overall aesthetics of every asset associated with a brand – whether it be print or digital. However, they also take special care to ensure that each brand asset and/or application functions in a way that helps companies to reach their goals. They have the tools and skills necessary to create ideas and assets and put them to work in the most efficient ways.
It's wonderful to deal with keywords that have 5,000 searches a day, or even 500 searches a day, but in reality, these popular search terms actually make up less than 30% of the searches performed on the web. The remaining 70% lie in what's called the "long tail" of search. The long tail contains hundreds of millions of unique searches that might be conducted a few times in any given day, but, when taken together, comprise the majority of the world's search volume.
Work environments are a lot more complex than we realize while we’re grinding within them. Above the actual work you produce there’s a multitude of expectations, verbal and nonverbal communication gymnastics, and politics. Everything from how the organization is structured to its culture, product, and leadership play a part in how your day to day (and career) unfolds.
This section could fit into your abbreviated business plan, but I personally like it kept in the marketing plan since the strategy you select will play a very significant role in how you create your marketing messages. Answer: What you will charge for your products/services? Why did you select that price point? What variations will you have on your standard pricing (coupons, discounts, etc.)?
How are client collaboration and communication handled? Expect a response like, "You'll be assigned a day-to-day point person who will report to the No. 2 person on your team. Your day-to-day contact will be responsible for all communication, but all members of your team receive all two-way communication. You'll also be communicating with the VP on your business in your monthly client meetings. Collaboration begins when you provide us with the necessary information we need to implement the program and then we work jointly on an as-needed basis. For example, if you're launching a new product at a brick-and-mortar outlet we would work with you from the inception of the marketing strategy to being present at the event."
When you take on anyone as a client there are so many variables that you need to become aware of before deciding whether it’s a good decision to do business with them or not. When your ideal customer is clearly defined, this process becomes streamlined because you know what types of questions and information you need to attain from them. You also have perspective on how these businesses run internally as well as how much you would charge them on average.

COMMENTARY Marketing is like sex -- everyone thinks they're good at it. In reality, of course, very few really get it. So few, indeed, that I had to struggle to come up with 10 companies that really know what they're doing and deliver the goods, year in, year out. Oddly, coming up with 10 companies with insanely bad marketing was far easier. Go figure.
We at Moz custom-built the Keyword Explorer tool from the ground up to help streamline and improve how you discover and prioritize keywords. Keyword Explorer provides accurate monthly search volume data, an idea of how difficult it will be to rank for your keyword, estimated click-through rate, and a score representing your potential to rank. It also suggests related keywords for you to research. Because it cuts out a great deal of manual work and is free to try, we recommend starting there.
But when the Eau de parfum came out (see alcohol-based, ergo inflammable), no MSDS was enough and even more documents were required. These cost extra to get and of course increased the total cost of transportation via airplane. As a result, the company had to absorb these price changes so that the end user wouldn’t have their experience compromised.
Instagram is the new, up-and-coming Facebook. Remember to grow your account organically and not buy followers. Create original content, consider video content, interact with users. One of my tried-and-tested practices on Instagram is to like your followers and other users’ photos. Always follow users back because the algorithm rewards you for staying active. Shedding users regularly might not be too helpful.

One of the main purposes of developing a marketing plan is to set the company on a specific path in marketing. The marketing goals normally aligns itself to the broader company objectives. For example, a new company looking to grow their business will generally have a marketing plan that emphasizes strategies to increase their customer base. Acquiring marketing share, increasing customer awareness, and building a favorable business image are some of the objectives that can be related to marketing planning. The marketing plan also helps layout the necessary budget and resources needed to achieve the goals stated in the marketing plan. The marketing plan shows what the company is intended to accomplish within the budget and also to make it possible for company executives to assess potential return on the investment of marketing dollars. Different aspects of the marketing plan relate to accountability. The marketing plan is a general responsibility from company leaders and the marketing staff to take the company in a specific direction. After the strategies are laid out and the tasks are developed, each task is assigned to a person or a team for implementation. The assigned roles allows companies to keep track of their milestones and communicate with the teams during the implementation process. Having a marketing plan helps company leaders to develop and keep an eye on the expectations for their functional areas. For example, if a company's marketing plan goal is to increase sales growth then the company leaders may have to increase their sales staff in stores to help generate more sales.
